I am a Libertarian. Many people believe many different things about Libertarians. There are, in fact, many different kinds of Libertarians! The one common truth about Libertarians is that we all subscribe to the following axiom:
"that no man or group of men may aggress against the person or property of anyone else.
(the "nonaggression axiom," quoted from The Libertarian Creed)
Being Libertarian means letting go of the comfort we find in controlling others, so we can grasp the comfort in being free.
Every text message I send ends with "Demand Liberty." People ask me, "Why? What does it mean?" It is my way of pleading with the world (and everyone in it) to stop submitting to oppression. My friend Ernie Hancock says, "Freedom's the answer. What's the question?" I agree. Show me any issue, any current event, any negative incident in our world today, and I'll show you how oppression is at the root of it. Eliminate oppression, solve the problems. Demand Liberty!
