When you're not sure if...
...your current system is functioning at peak levels.
...your current employees/vendors are giving you sound advice.
...you're getting all you can from the available technologies.
...you've implemented the right technologies to accomplish your business goals.
Please see my resume to verify my qualifications to give you advice. I don't sell or make a commission on any products or technologies. When I render an opinion, it's not tainted by any interest except my desire to create another satisfied client (you). If I give my clients bad advice, they don't stay satisfied very long!
My qualifications to render opinions regarding common practices in the fields of software development and system administration are virtually unmatched in the southwest. Having been an expert software developer and system administrator for over 26 years, I am also an expert in the concept (and legal area) of "intellectual property."
Need a new system? Or a major overhaul of an existing one? Let me evaluate your business needs/goals, and your budget, and work with you to design your next system. Don't assume that the information you've received from various vendors and magazine articles is adequate to assure a successful architecture. This is a "You can pay me now...or you can pay me later" issue. I have spent thousands of hours redesigning systems that were poorly architected. Many of my clients have spent tens of thousands of dollars correcting architecture problems (not my designs) that could have been prevented with better design.
I have managed multi-million dollar, multi-vendor projects with large staffing requirements (up to twelve direct subordinates, and up to twenty indirect subordinates). I have never failed to meet timing or budget goals. I understand and have extensive experience in the process of identifying and engaging stakeholders.
Next time you have a project of any size to manage, please consider talking to me. Even if you want to manage the project at a day-to-day level yourself, but want someone with whom to compare ideas, give me a call.
If you have more than three computers in a network, then someone
is doing System Administration. It might be a vendor, or an
employee or some combination...but someone is doing it. The only
question is: Do they have the expertise to do it properly, or
better yet, do it well?
If you have more than three computers, you probably have a network. If
you have a network with three computers, you should have a server with
centralized backup, and users who are trained to store company documents
on the server.
If you are connected to the internet, do you have a firewall? Are
you sure it's adequate? Do you have centralized virus protection?
Almost every client I've ever met, thought they were getting along just
fine without a System Administrator. Those same clients, now can't
imagine how they ever got along without one. If you're going to
fly in an airplane, do you want someone at the controls who's "not
exactly sure what that knob is for," or do you want someone who's flown
every kind of airplane for the last twenty-some-odd years?
If you owned an airplane and needed maintenance on it, would you
call up your wife's 20-year-old-skateboarder nephew (who "knows"
airplanes), or would you call a mechanic who has twenty-some-odd years
experience building and maintaining airplanes?
If you have more than three computers on a network, then you have a
substantial investment in Information Technology. You made that
investment because you believed it would help your business be more
profitable. If it's not meeting your expectations...If it's more
of a pain-in-the-rear that you think it should be...Please call me and
ask me to diagnose why, and to give you an estimate to fix and maintain it.
If you have a business process that requires Information Technology support, but can't find a program to fit your needs, I can consult with you to create a program that does. I have extensive experience creating custom solutions in the following areas:
